I completely forgot to go on with the bumblebee! Apparently medieval
English people like to play with the first sound of their words (like
'Robert' being nicknamed Rob, Bob, Dob, Hob) and our bumblebee used to
be called humble bee.

Which allows me to transition to humble pie (a person who has been
vanquished is said to be 'eating humble pie' meaning he has to act
humble). I have read that 'humble pie' was originally named 'umble
pie' or 'numble pie', with 'umbles' meaning either entrails (chitlins)
or testicles (prairie oysters).

Uncoerced humility is a good Dumbledore trait, altho' I feel it would
be pushing it to say his name means he has 'guts' or 'balls'.
