Hey, Susan! I agree with you. I don't think it was that simple and 
what Tom Riddle chose, eventually will come back to haunt him, but I 
am trying to figure out that obvious inconsistency how could he not 
to be born evil and never loved anybody. Hmm. Another mystery. :o)

And yes, I agree with Del - Voldemort is NOT described well. Right 
now, he is an Evil Maniac without any layers in his character. I hope 
that they will appear in the next books. (The layers)The guys who 
fight for Dumbledore have much more depth than any of the DE. I see 
no sympathetic villains in "potterverse'so far, on the other hand 
good guys have a healthy amount of "greyness"
