Sirius only found out that Snape had been a DE at the end of GoF when
Snape showed Fudge (and everyone else in the room) the Dark Mark on
his arm.  Earlier in GoF he told the Trio that he'd never heard about
Snape being a DE although he hung around with a lot of other
Slytherins who became DE's.
