Whew! you believe these characters are more treacherous than I do! 
But back to whether or not Sirius went into hiding at this point--
can you direct me to the passage that has Sirius telling  us first-
hand that he had no intention of going into hiding? And was that 
before or after he persuaded James to make Pettigrew the Secret 
Keeper?
