B_Boymn:

Sorry for the very short post, but his was touched on before. I
believe the term 'half blood' appears in some edition (UK) without the
 hyphen and in the US editions with it. I don't have both editions so
I can't compare identical passages. Nor have I searched all books to
see if the presents of the hyphen is related to context. 

If someone has both UK and US, could you check a couple of passages
and compare? Thanks.
