No, definitely not Lupin. Why would it be Lupin? We already know what
he looks like, and this sounds like the description of a new character
we haven't met before. I somehow got a feeling that this was happening
in some quite eerie place, possibly not in Hogwarts, but it could
just have been my mood at the time I first read it. Could it be
Gryffindor('s heir) in DD's Pensieve? Another preserved memory? Or a
real person?

We've already met Aberforth in the Hog's Head, why would she describe
him again? Besides, Aberforth smells of goats, and this character is
clearly lionish. Which points towards Gryffindor.
