Yes, it sounds like Tom Riddle kissed a Dementor somewhere along the 
way. When I think of Dementors I think of Demons.. LV may be 
possessed by pure Evil, after he messed around with Dark Magic and 
he became more and more of something that is no longer human. A part 
of him wants the souls of others... as some sort of food like the 
unicorns blood.. the blood of the innocent... the soul of the 
innocent.  Ginny and Harry are both innocent (pure of heart).
