Godric's Hollow

Did James and Lily actually live at Godric's Hollow?  If so, it 
strikes me as odd that they choose their actual home as their hiding 
place?  Maybe they were living elsewhere (at Hogwarts?...I've seen 
theories on this here...sorry not to credit the originator) and 
Godric's Hollow was James' family home chosen for safety, similar to 
choosing Sirius' family home at 12 Grimmauld Place as a hiding place 
for the safety of the Order.  Since we don't really hear much about 
it, I always imagine that Godric's Hollow is relatively remote...
