Carol notes:
Not to mention that he knew that Black could get into Hogwarts through
secret passages and could well be hiding in the Shrieking Shack. Note
that while he kept the confiscated Marauder's Map, he didn't turn it
in to Dumbledore.
Carol, who sees Lupin as someone who knows the right thing to do but
is generally too weak to do it
