Barb now:

It doesn't surprise me at all that they didn't know each other. Ron 
doesn't know people who have been in classes with him (Nott), and it 
seems to me that the Burrow is fairly isolated. Also, as Sen said, 
they have a lot of kids, so they don't need to go out of the family 
to find playmates. The Lovegoods live in the area, but so do the 
Diggorys, and the Weasley kids only seem to know Cedric from 
Quidditch. Luna also doesn't seem to be the type to socialize.

until after high school.
