Hi everybody, first post. The location of Hogwarts has bothered me
ever since I read OotP. Note the following:
"...two figures shrouded in hoods sat at a table in one of the
windows; Hary might have thought them Dementors if they had not been
talking in strong Yorkshire accents..." (OotP Uk edition, Ch. 16,
p.300)
So, two Yorkshire wizards in Scotland, or is Hogwarts a hundred
miles south of where we all thought?

quiet pint.
