Animagi reproducing?

I'm not sure how far I want to go with this idea given that the HP
series is (at least in theory) intended for children, but we do have
the pairing of Hagrid's wizard father and giant(ess) mother, which
rather boggles the mind even though they were married. McGonagall
"letting her hair down" to mate with a male cat is a little harder to
swallow. But your theory could plausibly account for the origin of
centaurs (an animagus in horse form and a real horse). It seems
preferable to the alternative (a horse and a woman or a mare and a
man). Ugh.
