Hmm, I wasn't thinking about purposeful bestiality, just accidental,
so I'm sorry for giving anyone gross images. I've been around some
unfixed male dogs recently, and, well, things can "happen" very
quickly. And on a purely speculative level--like you said, Rowling
isn't going to address this in a children's novel--its an odd little
puzzle, and might account for centaurs.
