Neville also had trouble because he was trying to use someone else's 
(Hermione's IIRC) wand when he was trying to get things done at the 
end...Seems like Neville has a whole lot of trouble with other 
people's wands.  Good thing he gets his own soon (at least I hope).

As far as Luna is concerned, she is definitely the anti-Hermione.  As 
Luna is in Ravenclaw, she is smart and perhaps in the end they will 
both wind up a little closer to center due to the other's influence.  
I agree, there is no way Luna was egging Harry on to go through the 
veil.
