Sue:
This is interesting, especially the reference to the fact that TM 
gets stronger as he pulls the life (power) from Ginny.  Is it 
possible that when the AK curse hit Harry the actual charm that Lilly 
placed on him ( I do believe it was a charm) took the life force from 
Voldy and gave it to Harry?  If that were the case, one of them is on 
borrowed time.  The stronger Harry grows, Voldy would then grow 
weaker, and visa-versa.

"Neither can live while the other survives" simply because they are 
sharing the same life force and eventually it will not be enough to 
sustain both of them.
