Me: Remember the danger in memory charms. They can be broken. Even 
when excessive strength is used in the memory charm, as in the case 
of Crouch snr.'s charm on Bertha Jorkins which damaged her memory, 
they can still be broken. I imagine this fact would remain valid 
over and above the special magical qualities of house elves that we 
have so much fun speculating on!
