Yes indeed. It was Thomas Bouch's bridge in 1879. The interesting HP 
link here is, as I have pointed out in at least two posts in the 
distant past, is that the event was commemorated in the most 
appalling verse by the Great McGonagall.....

Yes. Telford (and Brunel and Stephenson) threw a number of bridges 
around. I hope their aim was good.
