Sue B:

Don't we all! But to be fair, none of the teachers at Hogwarts seems
to have any actual teaching qualifications. There are some "natural"
teachers such as McGonagall, Flitwick, the emergency teacher
Grubbly-Plank and, of course, Lupin, but in real life, even the
natural teachers need a little help from training. You have to know
more than just your subject. And if you're like Snape, probably
better
off in research than the classroom, you'd need more than a little
help. Hogwarts seems to be, for him at least, a refuge from Voldemort
- or perhaps a place where he will be safe while he works against
Voldemort under the leadership of Dumbledore. This is not a very good
reason for hiring a teacher, but there you are. If there's a WW
teachers' college we have never been told about it and just imagine
trying to get into a Muggle university to study Potions Education!;-)
