IMO lycanthropy is transmitted saliva to blood. Remus would have to 
break the skin, but in the same vein, it would be simple to transmit 
the disease through, ahem... well we're adults here..., sex. So, 
that said, Remus must be a lonely man. There are probable very few 
females with lycanthropy, and fewer that a good guy would want to 
hang with, or that aren't so neurotic they have issues.
