Where old Dumbledore is concerned, one should take more notice of 
what he is not saying than what he is saying... :-) He rarely tells 
the whole truth; just ask Harry! So Dumbledore saying Voldemort is 
the last descendant of Slytherin could be just part of the picture. 
When did DD ever present the whole picture? He never has. I'm not 
saying he's lying; rather that he just chooses to hold back some (or 
lets say most) of the truth for the sake of the readers' suspense :-)
