I like this idea, it has a certain poetry.  However, as someone who is 
getting on in years, I have to say that when one is old enough to sport a long, 
white beard, and lives in a place with stone floors and no central heating, a pair 
of warm, comfortable (and self-laundering) socks comes very close to being 
your heart's desire.
