A maroon is also a firework used here in the U.K. as a request for 
help - when the (volunteer) lifeboat service is called out, two 
maroons are discharged, at a preset time (1-2 minutes) apart. Will 
Ron become the 'knight in shining armour' and answer the summons to 
help? Or is he sending up maroons of distress
