That no criminal record could be a problem for Harry. He tried to use
an unforgivable and even if it's not on record he might get asked if
he has ever used such curses, he can now either lie or tell the truth
but when he tells the truth he condems himself as a criminal doesn't
he? On the other hand if he lies and it is found out later he will
get problems too. So I can't see him as an auror and I don't think
there should be exceptions just because he is famous. He also hasn't
shown any significant (magical) abilities above average. For example
he is good in DADA but not better than the other students he just had
the chance to learn the things earlier. His fellow students in the DA
have shown the same abilities as him (even the patronus) they were
just not given the chance to learn them. So I am not even sure if he
would be qualified to be an auror. And I personally can't see him as
an auror after all they have to follow rules and orders and Harry is
exceptionally bad at this :-)
