Geoff:
Just in passing, the finger isn't specifically mentioned so perhaps
that constitutes the fragments.
The other point was that,presumably, he was wearing other clothes
under his robes, so he could easily have put the wand away before he
transformed (working on the suggstion that if the wand is in your
hand, it doesn't go with you).
