Do you mean to come back and save Harry, Petunia and co.?  Because if 
he was sending himself back in time to save the rest of his family, 
like Lily, he couldn't do it as a 10 year old when Harry was 15 and 
Lily has been dead for 14 years.  I may have just read your post 
incorrectly but I thought you meant it as him trying to save his 
whole family, like Lily's mom and Lily.
