Do we have more canon evidence, other than Percy's comment or
comments from other students that it is the Dark Arts that Snape
fancies? I can't recall any, but it has been a while since I have
read them. If no other evidence exists, my vote is that Snape does
prefer potions and that the students speculate about the DA because
of his appearance and the fact that he once was a DE.
