Here's the US version (chap. 31, p. 704):

"The truth was that Ron had just reminded Harry forcibly of another 
Gryffindor Quidditch player who had once sat rumpling his hair under 
this very tree." (Referring back to the Pensieve scene with James)

I've read arguments that this quote doesn't *prove* James was in 
Gryffindor, that Harry is just assuming he was in Gryffindor and 
this is merely his POV. I'd like to find out the Marauders were in 
Slytherin, but that's just me :)!
