Thanks for looking that up. Hm. I wonder what it means. Could it be
that Dippet died at that point and Dumbledore was promoted to
Headmaster so Hogwarts needed a new Transfiguration teacher? That's
the only explanation that I can think of for hiring her in December
rather than September. (BTW, I knew thirty wasn't right, but couldn't
remember the exact number of years.)
