Um, what exactly would you like? What would this sort of defense 
constitute? Go on, try to defend Snape without using rationales or 
excuses. I have no idea what that sounds like, and I'd love to hear 
it.

My point is that I don't think some of the posters who don't like 
Sirius will *ever* concede a point unless J.K. Rowling comes right 
up to them and says they're wrong. You know, I'm not sure they'd be 
satisfied even then.
