I've been thinking along these lines as well. I've never yet heard a death
eater call Voldemort by his name. In fact, though I have nothing but gut
instinct, this is one of the reasons I don't believe in ESE Lupin or Black.
They freely say his name. They are not afraid of him. The death eaters
fear Voldemort, that is part of the hold he has over them. I think you
could have a good idea here. If more and more people stopped being afraid
to say the name, they would be less afraid of the man. I've always thought
this was part of the key to undoing him.
Question though, did fake Moody say the name? My books are in Braille,
which in the case of GOF is about 10 volumes, pages about 11 by 14 inches
and each volume about 2 inches thick. It's kind of a pain to try to browse
and find scenes with fake moody to see if he spoke the name or used terms
like the dark lord.
