Neville one year old (same age as Harry was) so Neville wouldn't be 
able to see the threstals (spelling?)  JKR has said that Harry 
couldn't see the threstals, before book five, because he was too 
young, or their death wouldn't have "sunk in" yet... I would assume 
that the same would be said for Neville.
