He doesn't tell us specifically... (I've used this exact quote to 
emphasize just the opposite.) Logically, since he hung out with 
Slytherins and is now the head of Slytherin house, it's not a far-
fetched assumption to say that he was a Slytherin in 
school...however it has never been said verbatim.
