I'm not sure where this fits into this discussion, but when listening to the 
book on tape something Umbridge said stuck in my head.

There is a point in OoTP near the end when Umbridge is talking to Snape and 
she makes an off hand comment to Snape about how she though he would help her 
more because of what Malfoy has told her.  I only have the audio version of 
OoTP, so I don't know the exact page Umbridge says "I expected better. Lucious 
Malfoy always speaks most highly of you. (Snape)"  This is said after Umbridge 
finds Harry in her office using her fire to see if Sirus is at GP.
