JK clearly states:  "When I started writing it, I had never thought
of writing for children."

I don't think it's fair to write the relationshp between Snape,
Dumbledore, and Harry off as inconsistent just yet.  I'm not saying it
isn't possible, I'm just saying that there is still a lot that JK
knows that we do not.
