she also makes allusions to the fact that it is very important for
harry to have that mirror in books six and seven. but the point, JKR
never said sirius was dead. she ducks the topic by saying things
like, I had to let him go. or He was becoming to influential on
Harry. She's very good and NOT saying he's dead.

She does not deny killing Sirius, she only apologizes for it. All of
the characters we have come to rely on as the truth tellers (DD in
particular) have said Sirius is dead. That does not mean, however,
he is gone forever, just that he is dead. This is the wizarding
world after all.
