Aggie:
But he does doesn't he?  All those times when Harry's 'felt as though 
Snape could read his mind'.   I believe that this means that he has.  
Especially now that we know he has the capacity.  This goes for DD as 
well.  Perhaps he (Snape) doesn't do it at the time you mentioned, 
possibly out of a sense of 'fair play' that the other replies to this 
post have said, but I believe there are times when he has.
