Cassie, I now think the usage of colour might not be that meaningful
in the end (there a plenty of red and green light spells by each
side), and I would rather stick to my other explanation about
Lily's
eyes, which is to be also a metaphor for her views, of which we
learned in Snape's worst memory.
But if anyone can add to the colour-scheme view of the books, I look
forward to read it.
Thanks for the posts about the colour of Gryffindor-Slytherin house.
