Actually, I've always believed that, if anyone in the trio is going 
to die, is going to be Hermione. She's a powerful witch, and Canon!
Hermione reminds me so much of what we know of Canon!Lily, that I 
can't help but think that, like Lily, Hermione will make the ultimate 
sacrifice to ensure Harry's defeat of Voldemort, maybe even 
reinforcing the protection his mother placed on Harry when he was a 
baby.
