I have another question I'm researching about this, too. I'm trying to
figure out what the SHAPE of the eye (it's always referred to in canon as
"almond")  has to do with all of this as well. Stephen King, who reviewed OoP
in the LA Times (he loves JKR, and has used the "Golden Snitch" in his Dark
Tower series,) chided her somewhat for her overuse of adjectives in her
writing.  I'm not sure if this is a significant clue or not....

Anyone got any ideas?
