"Redemption" for Percy! Thank you! JKR has put quite a bit of effort
into portraying Percy as priggish and power-hungry, and I've been
resigned to the idea that his arrogance and ambition would lead
nowhere good. He's certainly the least likeable Weasley, but a
Weasley nonetheless, and I hated the thought of one of them joining
the DE's. However, it's not a stretch to see Percy putting that
ambition and desire to enforce the law to work for DD and his Noble
Cause. Your theory also fits with JKR's penchant for showing that
things are not usually what they seem. Oh, I could certainly live
with this kind of plot twist!
