Snape a vampire? (was Snape's Patronus)

I have wondered about this theory as well.  He did eat something in 
the first *movie* when he was talking to Quirrel (unless there was 
something besides food in his mouth) - but I'm assuming we're talking 
about the books.  Being the potions master, he very well could make a 
potion to prevent the sun from affecting him (the wolfsbane didn't 
prevent Lupin's transformations, just made him likely to "sleep it 
off" and be more docile...or am I totally screwed up here?)

If Snape were a vampire, though, I would think he would be more 
sympathetic to Lupin.

What are the characteristics of JKR's vampires, anyway?  Does anyone 
know???  That would help to formulate my opinion!

Oh, and I totally agree with you on the bat thing.  Or perhaps some 
other cunning bird.
