Maybe Dumbledore could guarantee that her offspring, even if magical-
born would never manifest wizarding-ability and thus live his life as
a muggle? That would be a powerful persuasion for Petunia,
especially given Vernon's attitudes.

I posted this same thought a while ago.  What do you think will 
happen if DD dies?  And or what if Petunia is the magical one?
