I have wondered if anyone has thought about 50 years ago as in who all was
at school at the same time. We know Hagrid and Tom Riddle were, but I think
by my calculations that James, Lilly, Lupin, Sirius - the whole crew were
there together. Maybe not in the same year, but definitely at the same time.
Did Lilly know Moaning Myrtle?

Subject: [HPforGrownups] The number 50
Does anyone know of any significance of the number 50 in canon? I find that
I keep coming across the number; ie "...about 50 school rules", "...50 years
ago". I know that there are other examples but I cannot place my finger on
them at the moment. I tried searching the archives but could not find
anything. Is this just coincidence or has anyone else noticed it?
