I spend a year studying at a Uni in England.  Their
graduation was in JULY and finals were spread out all
through the month of June.  I thought in the first
book it mentions that Harry was grounded so long for
the snake/birthday incident that he wasn't
'ungrounded' until after school was dismissed and it
was summer (Book 1 not infront of me, books 3-5 are,
though).  Granted, I'm not sure about the 'lesser'
grades (elementary and HS equiv.) and their scheduals,
but they did seem start and stop later than US
schools.
