Geoff:
At the risk of being considered rude or unfair, I have a sneaking 
suspicion this is an example of the US "litigation mentality" which 
is creeping over to the UK and has everyone looking over their 
shoulder. Your case may have been a perfectly legitimate one but we 
are gettign increasing numbers of cases where people leap for a 
solicitor before you can say "Harry Potter".
