When you have significant similar experience with American kids, then 
your assertion comparing British and American kids has statistical 
merit.

As to the sexes, going back to story subject matter, what would 
Hermione have done? My impression is that her's would have been 
similar to Harry's in that she would have not gone crying for help. 
In fact from what we've seen (Rita S.), Hermione might have gone on 
the offensive for revenge.
