Potioncat:
Snape says that Occlumency is an obscure magic.  I would think that 
means not too many people know about it and even less know how to do 
it.  My understanding was that there were only two options:  DD or 
Snape.  And I think Snape was risking a lot by teaching it in the 
first place.  It could have opened him to LV via Harry.  After all, 
I doubt if LV knows that Snape is  accomplised in Occlumency.
