I agree, and quickly want to clarify that I think he's on the side 
of good, but didn't actually choose.  And I think the same goes for 
the Sorting Hat event.  He didn't choose good over evil, he 
Gryffindor over Draco.  All he had to go on was the chatter on the 
train and that Draco was in Slytherin.
