Oh so we ARE sticking around to Learn More about our characters. We 
just get to decide which "more" we're going to pay attention to. 
Gotcha.
What I don't get is this going-on about character changes. Who's 
said the characters changed? Our view of them while reading about 
them has, certainly, but they haven't.

Rather like...oh, say Sirius and James at that age? Oh, but THEY
