I have a question about your question.  I've seen it before, and I'm 
wondering, can Snape choose which memories to go after?  He says 
it's not like reading a book.  Does canon give us any ideas on 
this?  Because I never thought he targeted certain memories.

I also thought he did give a small praise here and there. 

But I cannot imagine why anything would think that a student could 
be taught occlumency by someone with whom he doesn't feel 
comfortable.Potioncat
